Del Sol Bariatric Center
Since opening our doors in 2004, the Del Sol Bariatric Center has grown by leaps and bounds, performing more than 750 surgeries and reaching success rates far beyond the national average. Our comprehensive weight loss program has earned the distinction of Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons, the Blue Distinction Center for Bariatric SurgerySM by the BlueCross and BlueShield Association and the Aetna Institutes of Quality® for Bariatric Surgery Facility by Aetna Insurance for excellence in bariatric surgery.
These accreditation programs provide confirmation that our bariatric program has demonstrated its commitment to providing the highest quality care for its surgery patients. Accredited bariatric programs such as Del Sol’s, provide the hospital resources necessary for optimal care of morbidly obese patients, and also the support and resources that are necessary to address the entire spectrum of care and needs for bariatric patients, from the pre-hospital assessment through the post-operative care and treatment process.
More to the point, we have designed our comprehensive weight loss program with the patient in mind. Del Sol’s dedicated bariatric surgeons, bariatric specialists, registered nurses and dieticians offer a comprehensive, personalized weight loss program which includes dietary counseling, a medically-based wellness program, surgery, and support groups. The program offers both the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Laparoscopic adjustable gastric band procedures.
El Paso is seeing a high incidence of obesity and the diseases that accompany this condition such as diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea and joint pain. After weight loss surgery, a majority of patients are cured of these conditions.
