Del Sol Diabetes Treatment Center
Purpose:
The Del Sol Diabetes Treatment Program is designed to deliver effective, timely and safe treatment to diabetes patients. Their multidisciplinary-team approach provides you with quality care while meeting your wide range of physical and psycho-social needs.
Program Highlights:
The Del Sol program lesson highlights include:
- Meal planning/food-label reading
- Injection of insulin, when appropriate
- Exercise regime as prescribed by physician
- Stress symptoms and how to cope with them
- Self blood-glucose monitoring and log keeping
- Signs, symptoms and treatment of hypo- and hyper-glycemia
- Prevention and detection of chronic complications
- Proper foot care
- Pathophysiology of diabetes
- Sick-day rules
- 2 weeks of exercise (with participation of full program)
Additionally, enrollees are given up to one year to repeat any classes.
Program Access:
The program is available to both adults and children who are:
- Newly diagnosed
- Previously diagnosed with changes in management
- Previously diagnosed with problems in management
Reimbursement:
The Del Sol program is recognized by Medicare Part B and most major insurance companies.
